Two gay men were recently married in what's being dubbed as the first gay wedding in Africa. One of the things they say was important to them was telling their families and getting that support from their families.
They also discuss having children:
“Family is important to us and that is the number one reason why we want to have children," Thoba said. "We also want our children to grow up in an environment where they are loved greatly by both parents who appreciate them."

Zambian Gay Activist Arrested
In another article, I read that an openly gay Zambian activist was arrested for encouraging same sex marriage on television.
He was on Monday charged with "inciting the public to take part in indecent activities," police chief Solomon Jere told AFP. He said he would appear in court soon.
Homosexuality is not legal in most African countries, according to this article. The television station stood behind the gay activist in Zambia and would not let them arrest him until the show was over.

So here are two stories involving gay marriage and LGBT people with completely different endings on the same continent.
